What is a macropad layout generator?
It is a tool to plan which shortcuts go on each key of a macropad. Pick your app and PadForge fills the keys with that app's highest-value shortcuts, then you tweak, export an image, and program the pad.
How do I get these shortcuts onto a real macropad?
Export the QMK macro block and paste the SEND_STRING cases into your keymap, or just use the layout image as a reference while you bind keys in VIA's macro editor. Any QMK/VIA macropad works.
Which macropad should I buy for this?
Any programmable QMK/VIA pad works. A 12-key layout maps neatly to the SPIN Macropad; smaller layouts fit compact pads. All are hand-built and programmable to exactly the keys you design here.
Can I share my layout?
Yes. Copy link encodes your whole layout in the URL, so anyone who opens it sees the same pad. Or export a PNG to post it.
